The village situated at the edge of the Mervent forest profits widely from its benefits. The Church of Bourneau (1445) has been restored many times.

During improvement works in 1886, the Renaissance style funeral chapel of the young Marie du Puy-du-Fou was discovered and remains the most remarkable place in the church for the exquisite delicacy of its decoration. This delicacy of the chapel's decoration is remarkable in every respect.

Alongside the church, in the heart of a very beautiful park, stands a château built in the 19th Century on the site of an ancient manor. It has a proud appearance with its turrets, its bell tower, its colonnades and its balusters. Its Architecture is inspired by that of the Chateaux d'Anet and the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau (private property).
