The church is dedicated to St-Hilaire, Bishop of Poitiers. It is a flamboyant Gothic style church in which the only vestige of the 12th century church is the West façade with its Gothic style central gateway of the transitional period. The square bell tower, erected in the 14th Century, houses four bells, one dating from 1853 and three from 1869.
At the exit of the village, in the road to St Radegonde, you will find the château de la Girardie which, although built on much older foundations, was constructed in 1593 by Girard de Beaurepaire. You can read there the following motto - "Qui rit at rapporte de ceste mayson luy defant-on la porte" (He who mocks those of this house shall have the door shut in his face).
Opposite the château, a magnificent oak tree whose trunk is nearly 8 meters in circumference dates from the 16th or perhaps even the 15th century. Listed, it is without doubt the biggest in the department.
